3 Stage Emersion Tanks

3 Stage Immersion Tanks, Essex

Not every part suits a spray pretreatment line, some shapes, sizes, and specifications call for a different approach entirely. That's where our 3 stage immersion tanks come in, giving parts a thorough, fully submerged pretreatment before they ever reach the powder coating line.

What happens during the 3 stage process?

Parts are fully immersed through a degrease and zirconium phosphate stage, removing oils, contaminants, and residue from every surface, including areas a spray process might struggle to reach. This is followed by a de-ionised water rinse, and where the job calls for it, an inhibitor to prevent flash rust and a trivalent chrome conversion can also be applied.

Why use immersion instead of spray pretreatment?

Immersion gets into places spray simply can't, recesses, internal surfaces, complex geometries, and tightly packed components. For parts with awkward shapes or hidden surfaces, full submersion is the only way to guarantee every part of the surface is properly treated before coating.

Does every job go through immersion?

No, it depends on the part. Immersion tanks are typically used where geometry, batch size, or specification make them the better fit compared with our 4 Stage Degrease & Pretreatment Plant, and we choose whichever process suits the job in front of us.

Our Immersion Tank Facilities

Everything happens in-house, across our Essex sites, as part of the same process that takes a part through to a fully cured powder coated finish.

Our 3 stage immersion tanks run to the same standard for every job that passes through them, so the quality of the prep is never left to chance, whether it's a single part or a full production run.

Every piece that comes through our line goes through the same quality process afterwards too: visual inspection, coating thickness measurement, and spot adhesion testing, before it's carefully packaged to avoid any damage in transit.

What This Process Prepares Your Metal For:

Immersion pretreatment matters most wherever geometry or coverage is the challenge:

Complex or recessed components: parts with internal surfaces, cavities, or awkward shapes that a spray line would struggle to fully treat.

Batch and bulk processing: multiple parts treated together, where full submersion ensures consistent coverage across every piece.

Long-life and outdoor projects: work where corrosion resistance needs to be built in from the very first stage, not just the topcoat.

Multi-stage finishes: projects using Zinc & Etch Primer before a polyester or epoxy topcoat, where thorough pretreatment is what allows every layer to bond correctly.

Why Essex Manufacturers Choose Eurotech?

We've been powder coating in Essex since 2000, and having both spray and immersion pretreatment in-house means every part gets the process that actually suits it, not a one-size-fits-all approach.

Combine that with in-house metal preparation, ISO 9001 accreditation, and our own collection and delivery fleet, and you've got a genuinely end-to-end service, all under one roof.
